Markitecture / Mark Ressl Projects
Projects that Mark Ressl AKA Markitect is exclusively involved with. Mark doesn’t have the time or energy to host a website of his very own, so I’ve offered to have all Markitect-related projects presented here.
Williamsburg, Brooklyn: A 30+ year old ceramic studio is being demolished, and we need YOUR help salvaging materials and saving a giant ceramic kiln from destruction!! This beautiful building was sold in order to make room for new condos (in our friend Yasuyo’s words, “tasteless” new structures) and as a result, the ceramic kilns, art studios, and materials all have to go. So Markitect and I have been collaborating closely in the past few months. It all started with a text message from Mark asking me if I “still do video stuff,” and indeed, I do! Since then, we have been working together developing a number of different collaborative “sketches.” Pieces of thought, articulated in performance and spacial exploration using mainly fabric as a medium, and documenting our stuff with video and Read More
Mark Ressl, Lala and Jared are trying to reuse as many materials from NYC waste as possible to aid in the development of the Saugerties Permaculture Farm Project. About 1000 sq ft of floor decking was disassembled, and will be used to build the Read More

Out of thousands of photos, we composed this series to demonstrate color’s role in the performance. Digital retouching was involved to enhance our argument. These studies were printed and presented as a series. Further documentation of the performance piece below:Read More
Mark Ressl, thesis architecture student at the Cooper Union, sent me a text message one day asking if I “still did video stuff,” and that was the beginning of what became an ongoing collaborative thesis exploration involving travel to Alabama, performance art in private and public spaces, and many late night conversations and debates about architecture, space, art, and New York City life. This project was the first iteration of Read More

He is currently building a “schoolhouse” and other community centers at a permaculture farm in Saugerties that was founded by artists, Lala and Jared. The following documents were written by Mark.
