Mark Ressl, Lala and Jared are trying to reuse as many materials from NYC waste as possible to aid in the development of the Saugerties Permaculture Farm Project. This week, an art fabrication shop in Queens generously donated used wood panels in the form of floor decks (used for fabricating the window displays for flagship stores, Macy’s and Lord & Taylor).
About 1000 sq ft of floor decking was disassembled, and will be used to build the floor of building projects on the Farm, particularly a wood shop. Mark and his visiting friend from Chicago, Joe, helped to cut and pry apart the pieces and load them into a rented truck destined for upstate.
Today marks the first delivery of this material, and the rest will be transported tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday.
Mark really wants a flatbed truck. Having one would relieve A LOT of transportation costs! Contact him at mark.ressl@gmail.com if you have one on hand that you’re itching to get rid of.
